Baldosa Rug is handmade using the flat weave technique, from hand-spun, hand-dyed, and hand-woven Argentine wool. Dimensions: 59 x 59 inches. Care: DRY CLEAN ONLY!
Baldosa Rug replicates Juan Stoppani & Jean Yves Legrave's artwork, "Baldosa" (2015). In our collection of art rugs, all of them are hand dyed and hand woven by artisans in Argentina using weft-faced weaving on traditional looms, following ancient production techniques of craftsmanship. With 100% high-quality hand-spun wool sourced from Jasimaná, Salta Province, Argentina.
The technique known as “Weft-faced” (“faz de trama” in Spanish) is used to describe a type of weave in which the density of the weft threads exceeds the density of the warp threads and hence hides them. This technique allows a diversity of geometric and organic forms, an attribute which makes it possible to highlight unique designs.
