Llama wool ponchos made with ancient techniques and all natural materials. For these ponchos, the spinning is done manually, using a spindle or spinning wheel. Wool is woven on a criollo loom, a rustic weaving machine with four wooden posts nailed to the floor.

Rua Chaky is from Belén, Catamarca, which is considered to be the capital of the Argentine poncho. Among all the different producers, Rua Chaky occupies a special place. Ramón Baigorria and his family work the loom just as their parents, grandparents, great grandparents, and even great-great-grandparents did. As entrepreneurs, they are passionate about natural dyes, and experiment and innovate using different prints. When Michelle Obama traveled to Argentina on an official trip, she received a ruana from Rua Chaky as a diplomatic gift from the Argentine government.

Shipment Processing Time
